Employer
NEK EAD owns 30 hydroelectric power plants (HPP and PSHPP) with a total installed capacity of 2,713 MW in turbine mode and 937 MW in pump mode.
The main electricity production of the company is obtained from the fourteen large hydropower plants, which have a total installed capacity of 2,480 MW. They are grouped in four cascades: Belmeken-Sestrimo-Chaira, Batak, Vacha and Dolna Arda and are designed to cover peak loads and regulate the parameters of the electricity system.
Project site
HPP Rositsa 2 is a sub-dam HPP, located on Alexander Stamboliyski Dam, put into operation in 1955.
A hydrо unit with a 7 MW capacity is installed in the plant.
Average annual production: 17,000,000 kW / h.
The turbine is type Kaplan, produced by CKD – Blansko.
The plant is connected to a medium voltage network – 20 KV.
Project scope
Design, delivery and installation of a heat exchanger for a 10 MVA power transformer (the transformer is water-cooled).
Design of the cooling system, which supplies water from the penstock to the heat exchanger of the power transformer.
Selection of a heat exchanger and circulating pumps.
Selection of shut-off, filtering and regulating fittings, control measuring instruments and equipment for process monitoring and control.
Delivery of materials according to the project and execution of installation works.
Performing commissioning activities and commissioning of the cooling system.
