Project scope

The goal is to develop a project for “Replacement of underground pipelines for technical water – responsible users, group A of the QF system at block 5 and 6” at the Kozloduy NPP. The underground technical water pipelines for the responsible users, the QF system, have the task of providing the necessary amount of technical water for cooling the responsible users of group A. The pipelines of the QF system are located from the Reactor compartment (RC of unit 5 and init 6) to the spray basins QF10,20,30W01,02, from the spray basins to the advance chambers in the diesel-generator stations (DGS-1,2,3) and from the DGS to the RC. The project is developed in two phases – conceptual and working project
The first phase of design is the preparation of a Concept Design for each of the QF10, QF20, and QF30 systems. By developing three separate concept projects, one for each of the QF10,20,30 systems. Each of the conceptual projects is prepared after a detailed study of the existing situation and will contain 3 variants. The options offered use modern components and solutions with long-term serviceability. A technical-economic comparison between the options with the advantages and disadvantages of each of them and a recommendation from the designer is presented. The acceptance of each of the conceptual projects for the QF10, 20, 30 systems will take place at an expert technical council (ETC) organized by the Contracting Authority.
The second phase of the design is the preparation of a Working Design for the replacement of each of the pipelines from the QF10, 20, 30 systems.
By developing one working design for each of the QF10,20,30 systems based on the approved conceptual design for the replacement of each of the pipelines.

Classification according to safety and seismic resistance:

  • According to “General Provisions for the Safety of Nuclear Power Plants, NP-001-15 (OPB 88/97)”, the equipment from the QF10,20,30 system refers to the 3rd safety class, classification designation “3-O”.
  • According to “Rules for Devices and Safe Operation of Equipment and Pipeline Nuclear Deenergization Installations” PN AE G-7-008-89 (НП-089-15), equipment from the QF10,20,30 system refers to equipment from group “C”.
  • According to the “Standards for the design of seismic-resistant atomic stations” NP-031-01, the equipment from the QF10,20,30 system refers to the 1st (first) category of seismic resistance.
