Design for replacement of hydraulic shock absorber 5 TQ40J01

The program for lifetime extension up to 60 years at 104% nominal power capacity of Unit 5 of Kozloduy NPP calls for additional reinforcement against eventual seismic impact of the pipelines for emergency boron solution injection into the reactor pressure vessel. As a result, it is necessary to develop a detailed design for the replacement of hydraulic shock absorber 5TQ40JOI with a component with greater allowable load bearing (no less than 250kN).
Scope of the project
The scope of the project includes the development of a detailed design (in accordance with Bulgarian investment design legislation and applicable codes and standards), comprised of the following design parts:
- Machinery and Technology;
- I&C and automation;
- Fire Safety;
- Health and Safety Plan;
- Radiation Protection;
- Update of Safety Assessment Report.
The design was developed, submitted and accepted by the Employer.
